FABTECH Mexico Begins, Bringing Innovation and Technology to the Metalforming, Welding, Fabricating and Finishing Industries

● 25 countries, 350 companies, and 300 machines in operation are part of the 20,000 sq. ft. of FABTECH Mexico.

● FABTECH Mexico contributes to bring global innovation in the metalworking sector to the leading state of Nuevo León.

For 17 years, FABTECH Mexico has been bringing together the country’s metalworking industry. This year it is hosted at the Cintermex Convention Center in Monterrey and will present the latest technology for metalforming, welding, fabricating and finishing that allow strengthening the processes of the metalworking industry as well as take advantage of the great business opportunities that arise with nearshoring.

Carlos Mendizabal, Chairman of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA) declared that the previous records were surpassed for this years’ return of FABTECH Mexico, with more than 350 companies and 25 countries participating.

“These months have been complex for all of us who work with metals, however, the industrial sector has shown resilience in the face of each of the situations we have faced, our vocation for technology, and the importance of our industry in the Mexico’s economic recovery leads us to innovate and become aware. FABTECH gives us the opportunity to rethink logistics costs, making it more interesting to invest in Mexico by reinforcing the market we have in the north of the country” Mendizábal pointed out during his inaugural speech.

Federico Rojas Veloquio, Secretary of Labor of Nuevo León mentioned their secretary works together with companies to support and provide confidence that Nuevo León is a great ally to hold these types of tradeshows and to continue to generate more employment.

Iván Rivas, head of the Ministry of Economy, mentioned initiatives such as FABTECH Mexico make the Nuevo Leon state position itself as an example at the international level due to its dynamic and collaborative environment in industry, academia and the public sector. “The metalworking industry is the industry of industries in the country, which generates surprising trade flows, with 2021 being a benchmark for breaking the export record, exceeding pre-pandemic levels, with a value of more than $45,476,000. With this, it is shown that what is manufactured here meets the highest quality standards, which facilitates its integration into the global value chains of this sector.”

The participants agreed that FABTECH Mexico is a strategic ally in fabricating processes, as it promotes the transfer of knowledge and implementation of innovation to all companies linked to the metalworking sector. They’re able to increase their production and remain competitive, while reducing operating costs, obtain more reliable results, and adapt to change.

Konarska II, Executive Director & CEO, American Welding Society (AWS), David Klotz, President of Precision Metalforming Association(PMA), Andrew Goyer, Director of Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI), Ed Youdel, President of Fabricators & Manufacturers Association ( FMA), and David Madero, Welding Metal Sculptor & Judge on Netflix’s Metal Shop Masters.
