Laser cutting, a revolution in Mexican manufacturing: JFY at FABTECH Mexico

With greater capacity laser cutting machinery for sheet metal, the event attendees in Monterrey can compare the technological offer with its production capabilities.

One of Mexico’s fastest-growing metalworking segments is laser technology sheet metal cutting. This is used not only for large and well-known industries, such as the automotive industry, but also for others with less media coverage, such as masonry, furniture, and blacksmithing in general.

Thanks to innovations in laser cutting technology, the metalworking industry is undergoing a revolution, a significant change clearly reflected in events such as FABTECH Mexico.

This show “has established itself as the leading exhibition for the industry in Mexico and, possibly, in all of North America,” according to Jorge Bear, Country Manager of the German company JFY, a leader in producing machinery for sheet metal transformation.

Bear highlights the importance of FABTECH Mexico as a crucial meeting point for entrepreneurs looking for new technologies to improve their processes. “Entrepreneurs visit FABTECH with the desire to find new technologies to improve their processes.”

This approach on efficiency and innovation has allowed JFY and other companies to connect with new customers and grow together in the marketplace.

Industrial Growth

One key to FABTECH Mexico’s success lies in its ability to offer not only a wide range of exhibits on different types of machinery but also lectures and talks that help visitors better understand metalworking processes. This, Bear explains, allows attendees to get a broader picture of trends and developments in the industry, both locally and globally.

Industrial growth in Mexico is evident, with new projects and industrial parks emerging in different areas. This growth benefits companies directly involved in metalworking and a vast network of suppliers and indirect customers. “Maybe our direct customer won’t grow, but the second customer of our suppliers will grow,” explains Bear, highlighting the multiplier effect of industrial expansion.

JFY has introduced significant innovations in laser cutting, launching machines up to 12 kilowatts with state-of-the-art resonators. These machines offer increased cutting capabilities and speed, representing an important advancement for the industry. Likewise, led in our country by Jorge Bear, it is expanding its product catalog to offer more options to its customers, including improvements in power and efficiency and in the intuitive capacity of its control systems.

FABTECH Mexico plays a fundamental role in promoting laser cutting technologies in the metalworking industry and, according to the JFY executive, is increasingly an obligatory reference for discovery, innovation, and joint growth.
