Sherwin-Williams will present Sustainable Technologies in Surface Finishes at FABTECH 2024

Based on new technologies focused on eliminating environmental impact and with tailor-made solutions, coatings have an essential role in the industry.

The metalworking industry in Mexico is at a crucial moment of transformation in response to climate change, an issue now central to surface finishing processes. That is why Sherwin-Williams plans to present at FABTECH 2024 in Monterrey with technological proposals in line with the need for more efficient and sustainable production within a framework of increasing globalization.

The importance of surface finishes transcends mere aesthetics, directly affecting the useful life of the components, their resistance to corrosion, and their environmental compatibility. In this sense, Sherwin-Williams’ participation in FABTECH 2024 is a sign of its leadership in the sector and its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Carlos Tristán, Commercial Director of the North Zone of Sherwin-Williams, shares his vision on the relevance of these advances: “For us, the participation of FABTECH has been significant year after year… The word nearshoring is what you hear the most nowadays. And the fact of having all of them in the same place generates a lot of comfort for everyone, as does the possibility of comparisons within the same place, which is formidable.”

In this context, nearshoring takes on a strategic dimension, as it seeks to bring production closer to consumer markets, optimizing time and costs and favoring the integration of local suppliers. FABTECH thus becomes a crucial meeting point for the industry, facilitating access to cutting-edge and sustainable technologies.

Environmental care

With its innovative launch of Powdura Eco, Sherwin-Williams stands out on this stage. This new material, designed to support the industry to be more environmentally friendly, symbolizes a step forward in ecological responsibility. “For every pound of consumption, there are 16 plastic bottles that are no longer in the environment, and we recycle,” Tristán emphasizes, underlining the positive environmental impact of its use.

Sherwin-Williams’ commitment to sustainability and innovation is not limited to specific products. The company offers a broad spectrum of coatings solutions, from liquid systems to E-Coat and powder-based paints, all designed to meet the most stringent environmental regulations. “It is essential to approach us to give them the necessary advice… to be able to support them to comply with all of this,” says Tristán, highlighting the importance of personalized advice.

Innovation Experience

Sherwin-Williams’ invitation to visit its booth at FABTECH 2024 is an opportunity for the metalworking industry in Mexico and international suppliers to discover the latest innovations in surface finishes and establish key contacts for the future. With the presence of all its staff from Mexico, Sherwin-Williams promises an enriching experience: “Leave them with no doubt about what we can do to improve their entire production, their entire line.”

Therefore, surface finishing technology on metal components is an essential pillar for the metalworking industry, not only in terms of efficiency and competitiveness but also in its contribution to more sustainable production. FABTECH 2024 and Sherwin-Williams are leading the way to the industry’s future, where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
