FABTECH Mexico Breaks Exhibitor and Attendance Records Once Again

Mexico City Mexico, May 12, 2014 – FABTECH Mexico 2014 including AWS Weldmex, Metalform and Coatech represented over 450 exhibiting companies, 110,000 net square feet and attendance of over 11,500 qualified buyers which were all records in the 5th Edition of the combined event.

The Mexican manufacturing sector has seen an increase of over 154% in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2013 in relation to 2012 for a total of US$1.893 billion. This was made up of the fastest growing industries including  Aerospace, Automotive, Appliance, Contract Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture.  Many attendee companies represented include FORD, Chrysler, GM, Caterpillar, Delphi,  John Deere, Lear, Whirlpool, MABE, Magna, Bombardier, Volkswagen and more.  “Exhibitors were very impressed with the quality of the attendance and many said they sold machinery directly from the show floor, said Chuck Cross, Show Manager.” “ Face-to-Face events like FABTECH Mexico bring the best return on investment stated Enrique Para, Sales Manager for HEMSA.” In addition to the 20% increase the event has experienced each year over the last 5 years, this year there were exhibited over 1 million tons of machinery on the floor. The combined event is now the largest manufacturing show in Latin American and rotates each year between Monterrey and Mexico City.  Together,  FABTECH Mexico, AWS Weldmex, Metalform and Coatech showcase technologies from welding and cutting products, thermal spray, metal finishing and safety equipment, metalforming products, including tool and die, metal stamping, forming and assembly, bending and fabrication products, including laser and plasma cutting, coil processing, roll forming, plate and structural fabricating, saws and cut-off machines, tooling, press brakes, shears, punching, and tube and pipe equipment.
